The Story Behind Apical

Apical started in 2011 with a single borrowed van, three friends, and a spreadsheet of every place we'd been told we should go. We kept asking: why is every organized tour a coach with forty strangers and a guide reading from a laminated card?

We decided to build the opposite. Twelve travellers max, a local at the wheel, plans you can break. Fifteen years later, we've taken 2,100 people across 38 countries, and the recipe hasn't really changed.

We're still picky about who guides our trips. Still cap the group size. Still detour when the coffee smells good. The world's bigger than any itinerary, and the best travel happens when you leave room for it.
